Selkirk is an attractive town extending from the hilltop location of its Market Place and High Street down steep slopes to the impressive old woollen mills and more modern industrial estates along the valley of the Ettrick Water.
Selkirk is another Borders town which is loaded with history. Sir Walter Scott, James Hogg -the ettrick shepherd, Mungo Park. There is so much to learn. Halliwells Museum is worth a visit. Aikwood Tower, home of David & Judy Steel, just outside Selkirk on the Ettrickbridge road is another popular visitor attraction housing the James Hogg Exhibition. Although the exhibition may be moving to its new home at Bowhill House. |
